Job Description:
Overview of business area or project:
We are seeking a Business Objects Support Specialist.
The supported platform is based on SAP Business Objects 4.2 SP3 that allows extensive evaluations and reports based on company data stored in the data warehouse platform of the bank.
The role will work with end users, report developers, solution designers and other functions in the area of consulting on processes and design as well as solving issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing support as well as deployment and operations services for a large-scale multi-application Business Objects deployment.
- Collaborate with end users, report developers, solution designers, and other functions for problem consulting on processes and design.
- First and second level support
- Coordinating support resolution efforts for larger scale issues - analyzing and resolving outages
- Consulting project teams on building applications on the Business Objects platform
- Enforcing platform standards / guidelines
Overview of the department / team (team size, backgrounds, personalities …):
The chance for you to work closely with the CTO, Data Warehouse Reporting Platform team. You will be responsible for software implementation and support of Business Intelligence tools across the bank globally (with more than 30 000 BI application users across all divisions)
Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:
- Opportunity to learn and work with a vast range of technologies (e.g. SAP Business Objects, Power BI, MS BI, Java)
- You will manage technical upgrades and new product releases.
- You will be consulting project teams in building an Application on the Business Objects platform
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- FH, HF, MCSA certification, SAP Certified Application Associate – Business Objects Enterprise
Experiences:
- SAP Business Objects 4.2 (Enterprise Platform, Client Tools)
- Experience in supporting large scale DWH / Business Intelligence enterprise environments (must have)
- Strong experience in supporting/operating a larger scale Microsoft BI platform environment is a plus
- Windows Server 2012 (must have)
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills
- Background in a support function is highly desirable.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in SAP Business Objects Level 2 Platform support (nice to have)
- Linux (nice to have)
- Oracle 11g (nice to have)
